With adequate staffing becoming more of a fantasy than a reality for many departments, the modern company officer is asked to wear many hats ranging from tailboard firefighter to command level officer.  Whether career or volunteer, this 2 hour course aims to guide company officers struggling to balance leadership and firemanship while operating with the realities of limited manpower.  Students will learn how to maximize the effectiveness of their resources by bridging personal and departmental expectations both in the firehouse and on the fireground!

The target audience is current and aspiring fire officers who routinely operate as members of crews with 3 or less personnel.  This course aims to help those struggling to meet the mandates of formal leadership training without the manpower to do so.  This course will also provided insight to executive level fire officers as they create and maintain realistic expectations for company officers leading members in low staffing environments as well as any member looking for tactics that can elevate the impact of their company regardless of size.
